Mayor Thorpe, an elected official in Antioch, is no stranger to hard work and determination. He was born in prison, raised by a Mexican-American foster family, and graduated high school, not knowing how to read and write. Today, he's a proud US Navy veteran, bilingual in Spanish and English, a graduate of George Washington University, and a public servant.
